The ReStore is a retail home improvement store and donation center in Cromwell that sells new and slightly used building materials, appliances, furniture, and other household items to help raise money to support our mission. The store serves as a fundraiser for Habitat and relies on dedicated volunteers to run its daily operations.
Volunteers will help process donations, assist customers and staff with other store operations, and serve as cashiers. No retail experience is needed.

Volunteer Positions (not limited to):
Cashier: The Cashier’s primary goal is to complete transactions to ensure the sale of ReStore items in an efficient and friendly manner. To help ensure that the store runs smoothly, cashiers may be asked to focus on other light duties, such as answering phone calls and speaking with customers.
Customer Service Representative: The CSR is asked to greet customers upon entry and help guide them throughout the store according to their needs. All CSRs should be willing to field customers’ questions and answer them to the best of their ability. Finally, if possible, CSRs should also be willing to help or find helpers to assist in the moving of merchandise at time of sale.
Driver’s Assistant: The Driver’s Assistant’s primary role is to accompany the ReStore Driver during pick-ups and assist in the handling and moving of heavy or awkward merchandise. The Driver’s Assistant, in this capacity, will help in the loading, unloading, and moving of donations/merchandise, and any other duties assigned by the ReStore Driver.
Stockroom/Sales Floor Associate: The Stockroom/Sales Floor Associate is responsible for cleaning, loading, unloading, and moving of donations/merchandise. The Associate will assist donors with donation drop-offs and customers with the loading of their purchases.
