Liberty Street House Build - WILLIAM RAVEIS CUSTOMER SERVICE TEAM

Volunteering as a Group Activity

Every year countless groups representing all segments of our community help to build Habitat homes. A group of people can accomplish a lot on a construction site in one day. Team Build Days provide groups the opportunity to develop their team while giving back. We welcome all groups to join us in furthering our mission to eliminate substandard housing in Middlesex County, one house, one family at a time.

Making a Financial Donation

Like all Habitat affiliates, Middlesex Habitat for Humanity raises 100% of the funds needed to build homes from the local community. Making a financial contribution in addition to providing volunteers enables us to continue our mission to eliminate substandard housing in Middlesex County, one house, one family at a time. Your contribution will be used to purchase tools, equipment and building materials for the job site.

Team Build Days

Team build Days are great opportunities for a company or group to involve their employees or members in a positive team-building activity. They provide groups increased visibility in the local community and boost morale. No previous construction skills are needed; our staff will provide all materials, training, safety equipment and supervision during your build day. We welcome your help, whether you have years of experience or no idea how to swing a hammer!

Benefits of Team Build Days:

-Assistance with organizing your group and planning the team day
-Company Banner on the jobsite
-Recognition in Middlesex Habitat’s newsletter sent to over 750 homes, on our website and social media
-Certificate of Appreciation
-Recognition via press release
-A special gift to each employee on your day of service

Making Reservations

For non-sponsor groups, Habitat construction days are dependent on availability, from 8:30am to about 3:30pm, year-round. Please contact the Construction Volunteer Coordinator, at mlopez@habitatmiddlesex.org or 860.398.6483 to schedule a date for your group. Contact us with multiple potential dates that will work for your group. We make every effort to schedule preferred dates, but we ask that you be flexible. The maximum number for a group is 10 people depending on the stage of construction and the number of individual or regular volunteers who may already be scheduled. Smaller groups are also welcome. Group volunteers are expected to arrive together and remain the entire day. We do not schedule partial days or late arrivals.

The minimum age to participate in a team build is 16.  A 1:5 adult chaperone to volunteer ratio must be maintained for youth groups with volunteers under the age of 18.

Please note: construction delays, weather-related issues and other unforeseen factors beyond our control occasionally require us to change a scheduled volunteering date.
