The 6th Habitat house was completed for Linda Gaylord and her family in April 2005! The Gaylord family moved into their new two-story three bedroom home on Saturday, April 30th 2005!

The 2 Whittier Road , East Hampton, CT house was started during the summer of 2004. The Whittier Building Crew: Jamey Bailes, Site Supervisor; Chris James, Bill Curlew, Roseann Sillasen, Manny Cunard, Greg Burritt, Scott Conover, Brian Yakey, Debi Reynolds, Chris James and John Grant gave oversight to over 150 volunteers who assisted in the building process mainly on Saturdays, weather permitting.

The Whittier House is MHFH 6th house either built or rehabbed since the affiliate was founded in 1996. This is the House the Senate Build, with Senator Christopher Dodd as sponsor and the PMI Group providing a $50,000 donation. Other major donors included Liberty Bank, Federal Home Loan Bank, The Middlesex Community Foundation, and many, many individual donors.

The House Dedication was held on March 6th where Gaylord family and friends, Middlesex Habitat for Humanity board members, town officials and building volunteers had a chance to celebrate and tour the almost finished house. Linda thanked all who helped make her dream come true! The 7th Middlesex Habitat for Humanity Habitat house is well underway at 34 Fairview Avenue in Middletown, CT. This existing house was donated to Habitat from Wesleyan University. MHFH building volunteers and students from the Wesleyan Campus HFH chapter are working Saturdays to rehab this house for Jennifer MacNeil and her children.
